Q: My Mini Digital Keychain Cameradoes not turn on. What should I do?
A: The Mini Digital Keychain Camerarequires one ‘AAA’ battery which is included with your purchase. Please assure the battery is loaded into the battery compartment according to the polarity (+ and -). Close the compartment door and press the Function button to power up. If your camera still does not turn on, please replace the existing battery with a new, ‘AAA’ alkaline battery (not rechargeable) and press the Function button to power up.
Q: My battery does not last very long. How do I conserve battery power?
A: In order to conserve battery power, the camera will automatically enter the energy saving mode within 30 seconds if not in use. If the camera is not in use for a long period of time, remove the battery and replace when back in use. It is recommended to download your photos shortly after you take them to avoid discharging or corrosion of the battery. If the battery cover is opened accidentally, the power will be cut off and all photos will be deleted.
Q: My software CD does not download to 100 percent. What does that mean?
A: When installing the CD into the computer, if a percentage appears on the screen and the software does not fully download, the CD may be damaged. Please contact Customer Service at 1-800-576-6566 Press 0 for a replacement.
Q: When I try to download my photos, I receive an error message that says ‘camera connection error.’ What should I do?
A: IMPORTANT: You must install driver and all imaging software as instructed in order for all operations to run smoothly. To assure all programs were installed correctly, do the following:

1) Obtaining the new driver
Go to the following website: http://www.driverguide.com
Click on "Join for free" and follow the instructions. A password will be e-mailed to you. If you don't receive your password, a temporary password will be provided.
Log-in as a member at driverguide.com.
Click on the digital camera icon and then click on "P" in the alphabet shown.
Highlight "Precision Images" and then click on "Select Company".
A screen showing "Most Popular Downloads" will appear. Click “1” ("mini digital camera" posted 09/05/03).
A screen showing the file name "SETUP.EXE" (2.6 Mb) appears. It indicates the file is for Windows XP, but it also applies to Windows 98 SE. Click on "SETUP.EXE".
A screen promoting Symantec Go Back 3 Deluxe appears. Click "SKIP IT".
A "Save As" window appears. Please be sure to note the path to the download location on your computer to locate the file later. Select "Save".
2) Setting up the new driver
If "My DSC" is already installed on the computer from the CD, remove "My DSC" before loading the new driver. Click on "Start", select "Settings", select "Control Panel", and click on "Add/Remove Programs". Scroll down the list of programs and highlight "My DSC". Click on "Add/Remove" and follow prompts to remove "My DSC".
Click on "Start", select "Run", and click on "Browse". Navigate to the file named "SETUP" which you downloaded from driverguide.com and highlight it.
Click on "Open" and the "My DSC" setup wizard will appear. Follow the instructions in the setup wizard to complete the setup. A folder called "My DSC" will be placed onto the Desktop.
Connect the Mini Digital Camera to the computer as instructed in the instruction booklet using the USB cable.
Click on the "My DSC" folder on the Desktop.
Inside the "My DSC" folder on the Desktop are three shortcut icons labeled My DSC, PC Cam, and ReadMe. Clicking on My DSC brings up the Photo Main Window graphic. Clicking on the pink camera on the graphic now allows downloading the pictures from the camera to the computer.
Q: How do I assure the camera connection was successful?
A: Go to START Menu. Select My Computer and Dual-Mode DSC (2770) should appear under Scanners/Cameras.

A: Good lighting is essential to obtain clear pictures. In addition, holding the camera steadily and following instructions for distance will help in obtaining great pictures.
Q: What does the number ‘25’ mean on the display screen?
A: The number on the display screen is the number of photos available. This number will decrease with every photo taken. For example, if you have taken one photo, the display screen will read ’19.’

Q: How do I delete pictures from the camera?

Q: Do I need a computer to use this camera?
A: Our Mini Digital Keychain Cameranot only allows you to take photos, but also has built-in PC camera functions. Since photos must be downloaded to a computer, a computer is needed for this type of technology.
Q: When I try to download my pictures, an error messages appears: DEVICE NOT FOUND.
A: A ‘device not found’ message means that the computer does not recognize your camera as an external device connected to your USB port. Please make sure all printers, scanners or other external devices are not hooked up while you are downloading photos from your camera. Sometimes, these extra devices interfere with the hardware recognition and the device can not be found. Once all external devices are unplugged, please retry connecting the USB cable to the USB port. If the hardware is still not recognized, reconnect the USB cable into another USB port and proceed with your download. If you continue to experience this error message, please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-576-6566 and Press "0".

Q: I have a MAC computer. Can I still use the mini digital camera with a MAC even though the software is only compatible with Windows 98, ME, 2000, and XP?
A: Yes, you can use our Mini Digital Keychain Camerawith your MAC computer, however, you will not install any of the software included as it is not needed for your system. Take your photos as usual, connect the camera with the USB cable provided into the USB port as instructed, and an icon on the desktop called "removable drive" will appear. If you click on this icon or folder, your photos will appear as thumbnails. From this screen, drag and drop desired photos to your computer's hard drive and let the fun begin! Remember, DO NOT install any of the software provided if you are using a MAC – it is not compatible nor is it necessary with your computer.
Q: What is the optimum distance between the camera view finder and my object when taking a photo?
A: The fixed focus lens should give adequate focus from 30cm through infinity.
Q: How far away should I hold the viewfinder from my eye?
A: You must keep a reasonable distance between your eyes and the viewfinder (approximately 12 inches) to take a photo.
Q: What is Image Compression?
A: This option will compress the size of the photos taken, and will allow the camera to store more photos. Please note that when using the compression mode “LD” the quality of the pictures will be compromised slightly. Choose “HD” for better quality photos.
Q: What is the Light System Shift 50/60Hz?
A: When electric power of indoor light system is 110V, choose the LIGHT SYSTEM SHIFT “60”. 60Hz will provide better image quality with 110V lighting systems (U.S.) When electric power of indoor light system is 220V, choose the LIGHT SYSTEM SHIFT “50”. 50Hz will provide better image quality with 220V lighting systems. (China & European Countries)Choose “60” for U.S.
Q: Low Resolution & High Resolution
A: Choose High Resolution “HI” to take better quality, and larger photos ready to print. In the High Resolution mode you can take 25 photos whereas in the Low Resolution mode “Lo” you can take 99 photos, great for emailing photos.
