Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q:  My ZINA BinoPix Binoculars w/ Digital Camera do not turn on.  What should I do?
A:  The ZINA BinoPix Binoculars w/ Digital Camera requires two ‘AAA’ battery which is included with your purchase.  Please assure the batteries are loaded into the battery compartment according to polarity (+ and -).  Close the compartment door and press the Function/Mode button to power up.  If your camera still does not turn on, please replace the existing battery with a new ‘AAA’ alkaline battery (not rechargeable) and press the Function/Mode button to power up.

Q:  My battery does not last very long.  How do I conserve battery power?
A:  In order to conserve battery power, the camera will automatically enter the energy saving mode within 3 seconds if not in use.  If the camera is not in use for a long period of time, remove the battery and replace when back in use.  It is recommended to download your photos shortly after you take them to avoid discharging or corrosion of the battery.  If the battery cover is opened accidentally, the power will be cut off and all photos will be deleted.

Q:  My software CD does not download to 100%.  What does that mean?
A:  When installing the CD into the computer, if a percentage appears on the screen and the software does not fully download the CD may be damaged.  Please contact Customer Service at 1-800-576-6566 and press “0” for a replacement.

Q:  How do I assure the camera connection was successful?
A:  Go to the START Menu.  Select My Computer and Dual Mode Camera (800A VGA) should appear.

Q:  How do I assure that all softwares have been successfully downloaded into my computer?
A:  Go to the START Menu and all softwares should be displayed in your program list.  Arcsoft Photo Impression 4, Arcsoft Video Impression 1.6, and the Dual Mode Camera (800A VGA) should be displayed.

Q:  My pictures are not clear.  How can I fix this?
A:  Good lighting is essential to obtain clear pictures.  In addition, holding the camera steadily and following instructions for distance will help in obtaining great pictures.  Best quality photos are taken from a 40ft distance or more.  The ZINA BinoPix Binoculars w/ Digital Camera can focus on objects 40ft and beyond.

Q:  I downloaded my pictures to the computer but the ZINA BinoPix Binoculars w/ Digital Camera still shows the same number of pictures taken before I downloaded them.  How do I delete them?
A:  The ZINA BinoPix Binoculars w/ Digital Camera does not automatically delete your photos once you download them into the computer.  In order to delete the all of the photos in the device, press the MODE button until the LCD displays the “Delete All” icon (as noted in your instruction manual) and press the SHOOT button within 5 seconds to confirm delete all.

Q:  How do I delete the last photo taken?
A:  Press the MODE button until the LCD displays the “Delete One” icon (as noted in your instruction manual) and press the SHOOT button within 5 seconds to confirm and the last photo taken will be deleted from the camera.

Q:  The photos I downloaded from my ZINA BinoPix Binoculars w/ Digital Camera look red.
A:  Photos taken indoors with the ZINA BinoPix Binoculars w/ Digital Camera may appear red when downloaded if you are running under Windows XP.  Redness of photos will not happen if taken outdoors or if your computer has Windows 98, ME, or 2000.

Q:  Do I need a computer to use this camera?
A:  ZINA BinoPix 10 Binoculars w/ Digital Camera not only allows you to take photos, but also has a built-in PC camera functions.  Since photos must be downloaded to a computer, a computer is needed for this type of technology.

Q:  When I look through the binoculars, the image is blurry.
A:  Hold the ZINA BinoPix Binoculars w/ Digital Camera in a comfortable viewing position and look through both barrels.  Adjust both the right and left barrels at the same time until a circular field is displayed.  To adjust the focus, look into the left eye piece with your left eye open (and right eye closed) and focus on an object at least 5 meters away.  Adjust the focus knob clockwise or counter clock wise until a clear object is viewed.  To adjust the right barrel, look into the right eye piece with your right eye open (and left eye closed) and focus on an object at least 5 meters away.  Adjust the dioptric knob right or left until the camera is focused.

Q:  I have a MAC Computer.  Can I still use the ZINA BinoPix Binoculars w/ Digital Camera on a MAC?
A:  The ZINA BinoPix Binoculars w/ Digital Camera is NOT compatible with MAC computers.  Do not attempt to connect the device or download the provided software! 

Q:  When I try to download my pictures, an error message appears:  DEVICE NOT FOUND.
A:  A “device not found” message means that the computer does not recognize your camera as an external device connected to your USB port.  Please make sure all printers, scanners, or other external devices are not hooked up while you are downloading photos from your camera.  Sometimes, these extra devices interfere with the hardware recognition and the device cannot be found.  Once all external devices are unplugged, please retry connecting the USB cable to the USB port.  If the hardware is still not recognized, reconnect the USB cable into another USB port and proceed with your download.  If you continue to experience this error message, please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-576-6566 and press “0”.

Q:  When I try to download my pictures, an error message appears:  NO PHOTOS IN DEVICE.
A:  A “NO PHOTOS IN DEVICE” message means that the computer does not recognize your camera as an external device connected to your USB port.  Please make sure all printers, scanners, or other external devices are not hooked up while you are downloading photos from your camera.  Sometimes, these extra devices interfere with the hardware recognition and the device cannot be found.  Once all external devices are unplugged, please retry connecting the USB cable to the USB port.  If the hardware is still not recognized, reconnect the USB cable into another USB port and proceed with your download.  If you continue to experience this error message, please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-576-6566 and press “0”.

Q:  What is the difference between Low and High Resolution?
A:  Chose high resolution to take better quality and larger photos ready to print.  In the high resolution mode, you can take 90 photos (about).  However, in the low resolution mode you can take 330 photos (about).  Low resolution photos are great for emailing.

Q:  What is the 50/60HZ power function?
A:  When electric power of indoor light systems is 110V, choose the LIGHT SYSTEM SHIFT “60”.  60Hz will provide better image quality with 110V lighting systems (US).  When electric power indoor lighting systems are 220V, choose the LIGHT SYSTEM SHIFT “50”.  50Hz will provide better image quality with 220V lighting systems (China & European Countries).  Choose “60” fir U.S.
